BrahMos Aerospace Private Limited (BAPL) has received an INR 661.50 crore (approximately US$70 million) contract from the Ministry of Defence (MoD) to supply Fire Control Systems and Launchers for Indian Navy warships.

The contract was awarded under the MoD’s “Buy (Indian-IDDM)” Category on 6 October.

India has signed more than INR 21,000 crore in BrahMos-related contracts since March 2024, including an INR 19,518.65 crore missile procurement for the Indian Navy, a INR 988.07 crore contract for shipborne BrahMos systems and a INR 661.50 crore contract for additional fire-control systems and launchers.

According to the MoD, the latest contract will feature Fire Control Systems and Launchers delivered with a minimum 68% indigenous content. The contract is scheduled to be completed in three years.

The Defence Acquisition Council (DAC) had accorded its Acceptance of Necessity (AoN) for procurement of BrahMos Fire Control System and Launchers in August 2025.

The BrahMos supersonic cruise missile system is the Indian Navy’s primary Surface to Surface Missile (SSM) system for maritime strike operations. The weapon system is fitted onboard various frontline warships and is capable of targeting land and sea targets from extended ranges.
