The Indian Army has inaugurated the AASHVAST facility, a specialised centre that will undertake the assessment and analysis military electronic systems hardware for vulnerabilities and security threats.
The facility aimed at enhancing the integrity, reliability and security of mission-critical military electronics was inaugurated by the Chief of the Army Staff, General Dhiraj Seth in August.
According to the Army, AASHVAST (Assessment and Analysis of Electronic Systems Hardware for Vulnerabilities and Security Threats) is equipped to evaluate critical defence electronics and improve cyber resilience.
The Army said the facility would strengthen operational readiness while supporting the growth of the domestic defence ecosystem.
The establishment of a dedicated hardware security facility within the Army reflects its growing emphasis on protecting military systems against supply chain vulnerabilities and cyber threats.
